To insure the best performance of your Amazon LinksWell GEN1 T-Style radio system, we will always have the latest version of firmware available on this page.

If you own the GEN1 T-style radio purchased through one of our authorized dealers, outside of Amazon, please visit this page.

If you own a GEN2 T-Style radio please visit this page.

NOTE: ALL FIRMWARE UPDATES REQUIRE A FORMATTED USB STICK AND ACCESS TO A COMPUTER. (Please do not use a USB stick larger then 8GB).  IF YOU ARE NOT CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITIES TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW, PLEASE SEE AN AUTHORIZED LINKSWELL DEALER.

(Service done through a dealer is subject to cost when the system was not purchased through the dealer)

ALL UPDATES ARE DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND REQUIRE THAT YOU UNPLUG ALL ACCESSORIES CURRENTLY PLUGGED INTO ALL USB JACKS, INCLUDING THE WHITE CARPLAY DONGLE & DVR CAMERA. IF THE DVR CAMERA USB CONNECTION IS NOT ACCESSIBLE, IT HAS A CONNECTOR IN THE CABLE THAT CAN BE UNPLUGGED.

ALL UPDATES SHOULD BE DONE WITH KEY IN “IGNITION” POSITION OR WITH VEHICLE RUNNING.

NOTE: FORD AND RAM UPDATES ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE – CHOOSE THE PROPER FILES FOR YOUR UNIT!

FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE:

There are 4 different kind of updates.  Please see the Update logs to find the correct update to run.

 

To update the MCU – (LATEST VERSION 1.1A)

1.  Download the “Amazon_F-Series_MCU_1.1A.zip” OR “Amazon_RAM_MCU_1.1.zip” file from the link above.
2.  Extract the contents of the .zip file to your computer’s hard drive.
3.  Format a USB drive to be sure that it is empty,  open the folder titled “Amazon_F-Series_MCU_1.1A” OR “Amazon_RAM_MCU_1.1A“and copy the file inside titled “mcu_dapin.bin” to the root of the USB.
4.  Take the USB to the truck, turn the truck on and allow the system to boot up.
5.  If inserted, remove the white USB dongle (Car Play adapter) that was shipped with your unit, as well be sure you unplug any other devices from any of the other USB inputs, including the USB DVR camera.
6.  Once the unit is booted up, plug the USB drive directly into one of the USB inputs.
7.  Go to the “Settings” then to the “System Version
8.  Press the “MCU Upgrade” button.
9.  A status bar should show up showing the process of the update.
10.  Once the update finishes the screen will flash off and back on.

 

To update the PLUG BOX (LATEST VERSION 1.1A)

1.  Download the “Amazon_F-Series_PlugBox_1.1A.zip” OR “Amazon_RAM_PlugBox_1.1.zip” file from the link above.
2.  Extract the contents of the .zip file to your computer’s hard drive.
3.  Format a USB drive to be sure that it is empty, then open the folder titled “Amazon_F-Series_PlugBox_1.1A” OR “GENII_RAM_PlugBox_1.1A“and copy the file inside titled “keleoscanupdate.bin” to the root of the USB.
4.  Take the USB to the truck, turn the truck on and allow the system to boot up.
5.  If inserted, remove the white USB dongle (Car Play adapter) if you purchased it, as well be sure you unplug any other devices from any of the other USB inputs. including the USB DVR.
6.  Once the unit is booted up, plug the USB drive directly into one of the USB inputs.
7.  Go to “Settings” then to “System Version
8.  Press and hold the screen inside the information box to reveal the keyboard and use passcode “7890” to access the program settings.
9.  Press the “MCU Upgrade” icon on the left to get to the CANBUS programming.
10.  Be sure “Plug Box” is selected on top then locate the “XFY Upgrade” button in the list of options and press it.
11.  A status bar should show up showing the progress of the update.
12.  Once the update is finished the screen will flash off then on.

 

To update the AIRPANE (LATEST VERSION 1.1A)

1.  Download the “Amazon_F-Series_AirPane_1.1.zipA” OR “Amazon_RAM_AirPane_1.1A.zip” file from the link above.
2.  Extract the contents of the .zip file to your computer’s hard drive.
3.  Format a USB drive to be sure that it is empty, then open the folder titled “Amazon_F-Series_AirPane_1.1A” OR “Amazon_RAM_AirPane_1.1A“and copy the file inside titled “vwairboxupdate.bin” to the root of the USB.
4.  Take the USB to the truck, turn the truck on and allow the system to boot up.
5.  If inserted, remove the white USB dongle (Car Play adapter) if you purchased it, as well be sure you unplug any other devices from any of the other USB inputs, including the USB DVR.
6.  Once the unit is booted up, plug the USB drive directly into one of the USB inputs.
7.  Go to “Settings” then to “System Settings
8.  Press and hold the screen inside the information box to reveal the keyboard and use passcode “7890” to access the program settings.
9.  Press the MCU Upgrade icon to get to the CANBUS programing.
10.  Be sure “Air Pane” is selected on top and then locate the “XFY Upgrade” button in the list of options and press it.
11.  A status bar should show up showing the progress of the update.
12.  Once the update is finished the screen will flash off then on.

 

To update the APP (VERSION 1.1A)

1.  Download the “Amazon_F-Series_APP_1.1A.zip” OR “Amazon_RAM_APP_1.1A.zip” file from the link above.
2.  Extract the contents of the .zip file to your computer’s hard drive.
3.  Format a USB drive to be sure that it is empty, then open the folder titled “Amazon_F-Series_APP_1.1A” OR “Amazon_RAM_APP_1.1A“and copy three files inside titled “logo.jpg“, “SysVar.db” and “update.img” to the root of the USB.
4.  Take the USB to the truck, turn the truck on and allow the system to boot up.
5.  If inserted, remove the white USB dongle (Car Play adapter) if you purchased it, as well be sure you unplug any other devices from any of the other USB inputs, including the USB DVR.
6.  Once the unit is booted up, plug the USB drive directly into one of the USB inputs.
7.  The system should recognize the update file and pop up an alert asking if you want to run the update.
8.  Press yes and allow the update to run.
9.  Once the update is finished, the system will reboot.
10.  Allow the system to reboot completely, then remove the USB drive.
