Gen 2 T-Style Radio Firmware Updates

FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE/STEPS:

To help guide you through the update process, please follow the videos below for each update. Although the Ford unit is pictured, the update process is identical for the Ford, Tundra and the RAM GEN2 units.

Firmware updates are done in four stages and can be done in any order show below.

Step One is to update the MCU – (VERSION 2….)

1. Download the “GENII_F-Series_MCU_2….zip” OR  “GENII_RAM_MCU_2…..zip” file from the link above.
2. Extract the contents of the .zip file to your computer’s hard drive.
3. Format a USB drive to be sure that it is empty, then open the folder titled “GENII_F-Series_MCU_2….” OR  “GENII_RAM_MCU_2….“and copy the file inside titled “mcu_dapin.bin” to the root of the USB.
4. Take the USB to the truck, turn the truck on and allow the system to boot up.
5. If inserted, remove the white USB dongle (Car Play adapter) that was shipped with your unit.
6. Once the unit is booted up, plug the USB drive directly into one of the USB inputs.
7. Go to the “Settings” then to the “System Version”(Will be the ! inside a circle icon)
8. Press the “MCU Upgrade” button.
9. A status bar should show up showing the process of the update.
10. Once the update finishes the screen will flash off and back on.
11. Unplug the USB and go back to the computer for step 2.

Step Two is to update the PLUG BOX (VERSION 2…)

1. Download the “GENII_F-Series_PlugBox_2….zip” OR  “GENII_RAM_PlugBox_2….zip” file from the link above.
2. Extract the contents of the .zip file to your computer’s hard drive.
3. Format a USB drive to be sure that it is empty, then open the folder titled “GENII_F-Series_PlugBox_2….” OR  “GENII_RAM_PlugBox_2….“and copy the file inside titled “keleoscanupdate.bin” to the root of the USB.
4. Take the USB to the truck, turn the truck on and allow the system to boot up.
5. If inserted, remove the white USB dongle (Car Play adapter) that was shipped with your unit.
6. Once the unit is booted up, plug the USB drive directly into one of the USB inputs.
7. Go to “Settings” then to “System Version” (Will be the ! inside a circle icon)
8. Press and hold the screen inside the information box to reveal the keyboard and use passcode “7211” to access the program settings.
9. Press the icon with the arrow point up to get to the CANBUS programming.
10. Be sure “Plug Box” is selected on top then locate the “XFY Upgrade” button in the list of options and press it.
11. A status bar should show up showing the progress of the update.
12. Once the update is finished the screen will flash off then on.
13. Unplug the USB and go back to the computer for step 3.

Step Three is to update the AIRPANE (VERSION 2….)

1. Download the “GENII_F-Series_AirPane_2…..zip” OR  “GENII_RAM_AirPane_2…..zip” file from the link above.
2. Extract the contents of the .zip file to your computer’s hard drive.
3. Format a USB drive to be sure that it is empty, then open the folder titled “GENII_F-Series_AirPane_2….” OR  “GENII_RAM_AirPane_2….“and copy the file inside titled “vwairboxupdate.bin” to the root of the USB.
4. Take the USB to the truck, turn the truck on and allow the system to boot up.
5. If inserted, remove the white USB dongle (Car Play adapter) that was shipped with your unit.
6. Once the unit is booted up, plug the USB drive directly into one of the USB inputs.
7. Go to “Settings” then to “System Settings”(Will be the ! inside a circle icon)
8. Press and hold the screen inside the information box to reveal the keyboard and use passcode “7211” to access the program settings.
9. Press the icon with the arrow pointing up to get to the CANBUS programing.
10. Be sure “Air Pane” is selected on top and then locate the “XFY Upgrade” button in the list of options and press it.
11. A status bar should show up showing the progress of the update.
12. Once the update is finished the screen will flash off then on.
13. Unplug the USB and go back to the computer for step 4.

Step Four is to update the APP (VERSION 2….)

1. Download the “GENII_F-Series_APP_2…..zip” OR  “GENII_RAM_APP_2…..zip” file from the link above.
2. Extract the contents of the .zip file to your computer’s hard drive.
3. Format a USB drive to be sure that it is empty, then open the folder titled “GENII_F-Series_APP_2….” OR  “GENII_RAM_APP_2….“and copy three files inside titled “logo.jpg“, “SysVar.db” and “update.img” to the root of the USB.
4. Take the USB to the truck, turn the truck on and allow the system to boot up.
5. If inserted, remove the white USB dongle (Car Play adapter) that was shipped with your unit.
6. Once the unit is booted up, plug the USB drive directly into one of the USB inputs.
7. The system should recognize the update file and pop up an alert asking if you want to run the update.
8. Press yes and allow the update to run.
9. Once the update is finished, the system will reboot.
10. Allow the system to reboot completely, then remove the USB drive.
11. Once you have completed all 4 steps your system will have the latest software updates and features.
