T-Style Radio General Product Questions.


  • Will I lose Ford SYNC when I install the T-Style Radio?
    • Yes.  Our T-Style radio is a complete aftermarket radio replacement so it will replace all the factory Ford Sync parts.
      • This includes the SYNC phone app and tracking 

 

  • Will the system work the massage seats on my F-Series truck?
    • Yes.  We have created an Application that you can access in the Apps list that will give you the control of the factory message seats.

 

  • Will the T-Style system make my manual climate controls into the dual and or Automatic controls?
    • No.  Our system will turn your manual controls into touch screen controls but it will not add the functions of the Automatic temp control or dual climate control.

 

  • Will the factory remote start still work with the T-Style radio?
    • Yes.  Our system will activate the climate control in remote start.  We are only able currently to support the “last position” setting and not the auto setting.

 

  • Will I lose Chrysler UConnect when I install the T-Style Radio?
    • Yes. Our T-Style radio is a complete aftermarket radio replacement so it will replace all the factory Chrysler Uconnect parts.
      • This includes the UConnect phone app and tracking.

 

  • Will my factory camera still work?
    • Yes.  We retain your factory back up camera.
      • For the Ford: We can also retain the default view of the factory 360 camera system.  We will be releasing an interface that will give you 100% 360 camera control like the factory system in the near future that can be purchased after or at the time of purchase.
      • For the Ram:  We can only retain the tailgate handle camera.  We can not retain the 3rd brake light camera.

 

  • Can I add an aftermarket camera to the T-Style radio?
    • Yes.  Our systems come with 3 dedicated camera inputs, front, right and rear.

 

  • Will my factory Steering Wheel Controls work?
    • Yes.  We retain the all the functions of the steering wheel controls except the voice control button due to our system not having any voice control functions.

 

  • Will the system work on my truck?
    • Our F-Series works on;
      • 2015-2019 F150
      • 2017-2019 F250/F350/F450/F550
        • Unless it is the stripped down work truck trim level with the standard radio.
    • Our Ram works on;
      • 2014-2018 Ram 1500/2500/3500
    • Our Universal Double Din works on;
      • Any vehicle you can get 3rd party parts to install an industry standard double din radio.  (Installation kit, Harness/CANBUS Adaptor, Steer Wheel control adaptor, Antenna Adaptor)

 

  • Will I need to purchase any other parts to install a vehicle specific T-Style into my car?
    • No. Our system comes 100% complete with everything needed for a standard installation.
      • For the Ford:
        • If your vehicle is equipped with the B&O Audio System it will require the purchase of our B&O adaptor.
        • If you want full onscreen controls of the factory 360 camera system you will need to purchase the 360 camera interface which will be available sometime in 2019.
      • For the Ram:
        • All parts come with the system, including 2 main power harnesses. One for the vehicles equipped with the Alpine system and one for the standard system. (Using the wrong harness will result in incorrect audio playback.)

 

  • Does the T-Style Radio retain the factory Bluetooth microphones?
    • No.  In order for us to keep track of quality control when it comes to how well our Bluetooth functions we have to use our own microphone.

 

  • How many USB inputs does the T-Style System have?
    • GEN 2 Systems come with 3 USB inputs.  One will retain the factory USB inputs and 2 additional universal inputs
    • Universal T-Style comes with 2 USB inputs.  One on the face of the radio and one in the rear.

 

  • What can I use the USB’s for?
    • Music & Video Play back.  The T-Style systems supports the major audio and video formats.
      • Audio: MP1, MP2, MP3, APE, WMA, WAV, OGG, OGA, FLAC, ACC, M4A
      • Video: MPG, TS, DAT, VOB, MP4, MOV, 3GP, AVI, MKV, TS, FLV, RMVB,RM, WEB, WMA, ASF
    • Data transfer.  You use the USB inputs to run firmware updates as well you can use them to download music/video files  or 3rd party android applications.
    • PhoneLink System.  See following question for more info on the PhoneLink System.

 

  • Will the T-Style Radios work with an iPhone?
    • Yes.  Our system will work with both Android and Apple phones..  You can connect either through the Bluetooth to do handsfree calling and music streaming.  Or you can use our White USB Dongle that plugs into one of the USB inputs and activate the PhoneLink System giving you onscreen access and control to you phones text messages, music, navigation and select applications, (ie. Spotify, Pandora, XMSirius, Waze, etc.)

 

  • How long does it take for the T-Style radios to fully boot up?
    • 20-30 Seconds.  The T-Style radio is literally an Android tablet, so just like your laptop, tablet, phone or desk top computer it takes time for the systems to power up.  It will take approximately 25 second to completely boot up.  The back up camera will work before the system boots up and display with in 5 seconds of turning on the key.

 

  • What version of Android does the T-Style Radio system run?
    • KitKat 4.4.4.  In our product development this platform has been the most reliable platform to build our system off of.  We are looking into other Android versions but in our product development and testing the newer Android platforms failed to remain stable which could result in vehicle failure.

 

  • Can you upgrade the Android version?
    • No.  All of the CANBUS protocols have been written to work on the 4.4.4 platform.  Changing that could result in catastrophic failure.  Please see above question on why we are currently using 4.4.4.

 

  • How big is the built-in hard drive on the GEN 2 T-Style radios?
    • 32GB w/2GB or Ram.  A note of caution the more memory you use for applications and media may impede the speed of the system.

 

  • Can I go online with the T-Style radios?
    • Yes.  Our T-Style radios are Android Tablets and so are able to do the majority of the same things a standard tablet can do.  Like access to the Google Play store for apps, and a web browser for internet exploring.  The system requires a Hot Spot of some sort, either from your homes WiFi, your internet provider local hotspots, or cell phones hotspot.

 

  • Does the T-Style have a built SIM Card that I can activate with my cell phone provider?
    • No.  The system requires an outside hotspot to make the internet browser and online applications work.

 

  • Can I connect a T-Style Radio to aftermarket amplifiers?
    • Yes.  We have Front, Rear and Sub RCA outputs that you can connect to your aftermarket amplifiers.  The RCA output is a low voltage so if you plan on building a high end system we suggest using a 3rd part DSP or Line Driver to up the voltage on the RCA.

 

  • Can I connect Sirius XM to a T-Style Radio?
    • Yes & No.  We are in the process of developing a separate tunner to work with SiriusXm, so we do not currently offer a tunner control.  But you can use th SiriusXM App either through the system itself or through the PhoneLink system.

 

  • How do I update my system to the latest firmware?
    • If you click this link, or use the support tab and select the firmware updates page.  Follow the onscreen instructions to find your system and the available updates.

 

  • Can I buy direct from you?
    • No.  We do not sell direct to the public.  To find a local dealer please use this link, or click the find a retailer tab on the home page.

 

  • How long is the warrenty?
    • 1 Year.  All of our products have a 1 year warranty from time of purchase.

 

  • Is your system the same as the other brands out there?
    • No.  We are not related to any of the other brands selling a similar product.  We have our own product development team and software engineers that do product development out of our Southern California office.

 

 

Tech Support Questions and Issues.


  • Why does the clock keep lossing time on my T-Style Radio?
    • The system receives data for the clock from a few different sources which sometimes cause the clock to change times.  To fix the clock issues follow the steps below.
      • Go to “Settings”
      • Then “More Settings”
      • Scroll to find “Date & Time”
      • Be sure you turn off all the “Automatic” settings
      • After turning off all Automatic settings go to manually set “Time Zone”
        • (You have to set the time zone before you change the time f the time will revert to the time zone that it is set at)
      • After setting the time Zone the clock should show the correct time.
        • If the clock skips an hour
          • Go back to “General Settings”
          • Press the clock Icon and switch the “DST” option
            • If that doesn’t fix it go back to the Time Zone options and select a time zone that makes the time display correctly on the screen.

 

  • How do I get my Seat Heaters to work on my GEN 2 F-Series T-Style that had the manual climate control?
    • If your truck was equipped with the Manual climate control but had the factory seat heater icons.  The following will give you the steps to get the seat heater icons onto the screen.
      • Go to “Settings”
      • Then “Advanced Settings” (the icon with 2 gears)
      • Use passcode “9300”
      • Scroll through the options to find the option titled “Change Climate UI” and turn it off
      • Once you have changed the option to off.  Turn the vehicle off and let the system cycle off.  Upon restarting it the icons will now show up in the climate control panel.

 

  • How do I get the factory Ford 360 camera button to work on my T-Style Radio?
    • For trucks equipped with the factory 360 camera systems.  We are currently only able to activate the camera system in the default views.  So you should get the reverse camera slip screen with the birds eye when placing the truck in reverse.  When you press the factory camera button located on the dash we can display the front camera split screen with the birds eye view.  (We are in the process of developing a 360 interface that will be sold separately that will offer full control, keep an eye on our Social Media and one the website for the announcement of its release.)  If your factory camera button does NOT activate the front camera follow the bellow steps to turn on the trigger.
      • Go to “Settings”
      • Then “Advanced Settings” (the icon with 2 gears)
      • Use passcode “9300”
      • Scroll through to find the “360 Camera” option and turn it on.
      • Once you changed the option to on, turn the truck off and back on and test by pressing the camera icon after the system boots up.

 

  • How do I  get the iPhones Contacts to sync to the Bluetooth on my T-Style Radio?
    • iPhones require you to approve the syncing of your contacts to our Bluetooth System.  To do that you use the settings in your phone
      • Go to “Settings” on your phone
      • Then “Bluetooth”
      • Finds the T-Styles Bluetooth in the list and select the i in a circle icon on the right side
      • Then turn on the “Sync Contacts”

 

  • How do I fix the pixelated icons on my GEN 2 T-style after I ran the 2.1 APP Update?
    • If your system’s screen got pixelated or discolored after running the 2.1 APP update.  Use this link and download and run the new 2.2 APP.

 

  • How do I get my climate controls to work correctly?
    • With so many different trim levels in vehicles today having a system that fits them all often requires you to do some settings changes.  With each T-Style there is a process required to set the HVAC on your new T-Style radio after installation.  There should be a “Climate Bulletin” showing the steps on how to program the HVAC system for your specific unit inside the box.  If you are missing it or lost it, you can use this link and find the correct bulletin for your vehicle.

  • Why doesn’t my subwoofer work with applications like YouTube, Netflix, AutoKit,ect.?
    • Due to the nature of the Android platform we are not able currently to support Subwoofer RCA output while the system is using 3rd party applications.

 

  • How can I minimize the Bluetooth screen while in a phone call?
    • Unfortunately due to the way the Android platform works the system can only have one active application active at a time.  So when you are in a phone call the Bluetooth application must be in the front or the call will drop.  Where a navigation app can run in the back, a phone call can not.

 

  • Can I change the background on my T-Style Radio image?
    • For the vehicle Specific Systems:
      • This is not an option we currently offer.  Due to the system not simply being an Android Tablet but there are multiple overlay screens in play that control the vehicle and other functions changing the background is not simply placing an image in there
    • For the Universal T-Style:
      • Select the Wallpaper icon from the home screen where you can use one of the included background images or using the USB upload an image of your own.

 

  • Can I change the icons on the home screen of my T-Style Radio?
    • No.  This is not an option we are able to support due to the same reasons we aren’t able to offer background images.

 

  • Can I change the boot up screen?
    • Yes.  You can change the boot up image to any image you want that is 760X1024 using the Boot Logo APP in the App List.  If you do not have the Boot Logo App you can download it here, or go to Support>T-Style Applications>Boot Logo.

 

  • Why cant people can’t hear me in Bluetooth calls?
    • You have to be sure you use the separate microphone that came with your T-Style radio.  There is no longer a built-in mic on the face of the radio nor are we able to retain the factory Microphones.

 

  • Why do the icons on the APP List keep flashing?
    • The APPS icons flashing is due to the PhoneLink Application cycling in the back ground.  To fix this issue, unplug the White Phonelink USB dongle when not using it.  There is an updated version of the APP that if installed will make it so the dongle can stay plugged in without cycling.  To get the download click here, or go to Support>T-Style Applications>AutoKit.

 

  • Why when I press the climate control button the controls don’t stay up long enough for me to use them?
    • The climate control panel closing quickly is due to the PhoneLink Application cycling in the back ground. To fix this issue, unplug the White Phonelink USB dongle when not using it. There is an updated version of the APP that if installed will make it so the dongle can stay plugged in without cycling.   • Why when I try to get into the menu to change the vehicle type the keypad disapears to fast?
    • The keypad disappearing quickly is due to the PhoneLink Application cycling in the back ground. To fix this issue, unplug the White Phonelink USB dongle when not using it. There is an updated version of the APP that if installed will make it so the dongle can stay plugged in without cycling.   • Why when trying to program the system it keeps taking me back in the menu?

  • Why does the keyboard keeps closing before I finish using it?
    • The keyboard closing on its own is due to the PhoneLink Application cycling in the back ground. To fix this issue, unplug the White Phonelink USB dongle when not using it.   • Why does my screen go black when I turn on my right turn signal?
    • To stop the screen from turning to black with the turn signal go to “Settings” then “System Settings” (the icon with a single gear).  Scroll through and turn off the “Right Camera.”

 

  • Why wont the CAM page stay up for me to see the images?
    • To get the Camera screen to work correctly go to “Settings” then “System Settings” (the icon with a single gear) Turn “Front Camera” to OFF, and “Show Front Sign Button” to ON
